We’re named lovingly after a midlife crisis. After some forced and extended soul-searching, our Founder decided to combine his chemical engineering experience with his homebrewing passion to create a mostly legit beer business.
Are we striving for world domination through the widest possible distribution? Nope. We built Crisis for the love of craft and community.
We’re a place to share a conversation and a good laugh over a pint. That’s the reason you won’t find any screens at Crisis. Come raise a glass with us and witness humans having real-life conversations with other humans.
We hope you enjoy our crisis! -Liz and Sean Slape
PAST · PRESENT · FUTURE
We are 100% Fayetteville fanatics. Sean was born and raised in Fayetteville and Liz had been here since the second grade (which was a VERY long time ago). Careers took us both away for work and we found ourselves outside of Chicago and then Denver.
We talked about Fayetteville often and what we loved and missed about it. The hills, the trees, the topography were at the top of the list. We noticed there weren’t really any rooftop bars that had a great view of the beautiful hills. As luck would have it, Liz’s parents owned some land in South Fayetteville that fit the bill.
Construction began on the current building back in 2017.
We’re always trying to improve our space so you’re more comfortable. There’s a nice outdoor area that’s covered and in the colder months you’ll see fire tables keeping people warm.
There’s a red phone by the bar that rings down to the Penguin Ed’s BBQ that’s 220 ft away. You’ll get a 5% discount when you call in from the red phone and pickup your order to go.
When we started planning, the original drawings for Crisis were a two-level, 5,000 ft2 brewery and taproom (Drawing). Also as luck would have it, building this was in line with initiatives for growth that the City of Fayetteville had. Although we’ve completed the designs for the larger vision, we are currently operating with our mini Crisis, which is our version of an MVP.
We haven’t lost sight of the big vision. For now, we’re focusing on the quality of the beer and deciding to pull the trigger when the time is right. Stay tuned….
